Safety Committee Message - September 2005
Did you know that September is National Emergency Preparedness Month?
Now is a good time to make sure that you and your family are prepared in the event of some type of disaster. Being prepared for a possible disaster can make a life-or-death difference.
If you were to have to evacuate your home you should, post a note telling others the date, time, where you are going to be headed and with whom. The following is a list of items that should be available whether you are forced to leave you home or stay inside as a shelter in place: · Money · Food (canned goods and energy bars are good sources) · Fresh Water · Battery powered radio and or TV · Flashlight · First Aid Kit · Medications and eyeglasses · Important documents · Changes of clothes (adjust for weather conditions) · Sleeping bags and or blankets · Pet supplies
