Cultural Council

The North Brookfield Cultural Council (NBCC) is responsible for allocating state money for cultural events and meets several times annually to review and vote on grant proposals. All meetings are posted with the Town Clerk. These grants can include a variety of artistic projects and activities in North Brookfield, including exhibits, festivals, field trips, lectures, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, the library and other town venues. The Cultural Council prioritizes proposals with the greatest community impact.

October 17, 2023 is this year’s deadline for grant proposals and North Brookfield will have $6,900 available. Applicants must apply online at: https://massculturalcouncil.org/local-council/North-Brookfield/.  More information can be found at link above or send an email to: NorthBrookfieldCulturalCouncil@gmail.com

The purpose of the local and regional cultural councils is to support public programs that promote excellence, education, diversity, and inclusion in the arts, humanities, and sciences to foster a rich cultural life in communities across the Commonwealth. Local decision-making is an integral element of this system. Local Cultural Councils have the right and responsibility to award grants that address cultural needs specific to their communities.

The NBCC is open to North Brookfield residents and is currently seeking new members. The NBCC meets several times a year to review grant proposals and distribute funds in support of programs that enhance our community. For more information: NorthBrookfieldCulturalCouncil@gmail.com
