North Brookfield Transfer Station/Recycling Center

The North Brookfield Recycling Center allows residents to dispose of trash and recycle appropriate materials.

The Recycling Center recycles many goods, including plastic, glass, mixed paper, newspaper, cardboard, and metal. Plastics labeled #1, and #2, are accepted, along with bottles eligible for deposit. Trash may be put in the trash hopper (see below).

Fees apply for disposal of large items (such as furniture) and certain electronics (such as televisions and computers).

Organic yard waste may be disposed of at the recycling center year-round during open hours: Weds. 7am-12pm & Saturday 8am-4pm

 

Sticker Policy: 

All residents must have a valid transfer/recycling facility sticker affixed to the lower left corner of the rear window on their vehicle to use the facility.

Sticker fee will be set by the Selectmen annually with input from the Board of Health.

The Board of Health shall, annually, in early December, provide all prior year users with a letter specifying the cost of the sticker and number of units on record with the Town. All multi-unit residences will require a separate sticker for each unit and must pay through the Board of Health office.

Stickers can be obtained by the following methods:

-First Pay At the Town Offices (Board of Health, Town Clerk, or Board of Selectmen), visit www.northbrookfield.net for office hours then bring your receipt to the Transfer/recycling center to obtain your sticker.

- Or Pay At the transfer/recycling center (Wednesdays and Saturdays) Please bring your letter and a check to pay the fee

- You can also pay by mailing your payment to the Board of Health 215 North Main Street North Brookfield, MA 01535. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive your receipt. Your receipt is required to obtain a sticker at the transfer/recycling center.

If you have multiple vehicles you can obtain one additional sticker for free, additional stickers will be have a $5 fee.

Proof of residency is required.

Bags: All rubbish must be secured in official yellow or purple bags. Bags may be purchased at the Recycling Center, and Hannaford’s.
